Biography :

Ibrahim Ilyasu was born in 12 June 1973 in Gama quarters of Kano state, Nigeria. He attended Gandun Albasa  primary school from 1978 to 1984.Thereafter, he had his secondary education in Sharada Secondary School, Kano Teachers College (KTC) and Kawaji Secondary School, from 1984 to 1990. After memorising the noble Quran in 1991, Ibrahim enrolled in the Kano State College of Arts and Science CAS in pursuance of his higher education. However, due to some personal reasons he voluntarily withdrew from the programme after studying for some months, and as a result, he  devoted himself to raising the level of his Islamic education for five subsequent years; from 1992 to 1997. In these circumstances, Ibrahim received the prestigious award of al-Azhar University, Cairo, for representing Nigeria twice in the International Quranic Competition held in Egypt. By winining the fifth position in the first category (Quranic memorization with commentary ) for two consecutive years (1996 and 1997), Ibrahim became the only Nigerian to be so honoured

In 1998, Ibrahim secured admission into the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia where he studied for four solid years. Among the famous scholars that taught him were; Dr. Ali Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Huzaifi, the chief Imam of the Prophet's (SAW) holy mosque in Madina, and Dr Abdallah Ibn Muhammad Ameen al-Shanqeedi, the son of Sheikh Ameen al-Shanqeedi, the author of the famous Quranic commentary, Adwa' al-Bayan. After his successful graduation in 2002, Ibrahim returned to Nigeria and joined National Youth Service Corps NYSC scheme where he served with Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC Kaduna, from 2002 to 2003. Thereupon, he attended Bayero University Kano and pursued his masters' degree in Islamic Studies, from 2004 to 2006. Since 2004, Ibrahim has been lecturing in the Department of Quranic sciences of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies  Kano. Meanwhile, he received the prestigious British Chevening Scholarship to undergo another masters' degree in the University of Manchester, England, from 2006 to 2007. Working experience:


1 -Teaching in al-Jam'iyyah al-Khairiyyah li Tahfiz al-Quran, Saudi Quranic memorization schools, under the auspices of the Ministry of Hajj and Endowments, Saudi Arabia, from 1998 to 2000.
2 -Lecturer and exams level coordinator in Aminu Kano College of Islamic and legal Studies, Kano, from 2004 till date .
3 -Translator in African Engineering Project Company Libya, Kano Branch, from April 2006 to Sept 2006.
4 -President and State Coordinator of Muslim Corps Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, from 2002 to 2003.
5-One year national service of Nigerian Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation NNPC in Kaduna Zonal Office KZO, Nigeria, from 2002 to 2003.
